There were scenes of joy, plenty of them tear-filled, outside Mullingar Regional Hospital on Monday evening of this week, 26 April, when an ambulance drove slowly in through the hospital front gates.
The joy and tears were shown by family members and friends of bed-ridden Mullingar girl Symone Rowley, who was returning to her home town from a Dublin hospital which has been home to her and to her mother Hazel since August 2020.
11-year-old Symone had been a patient at Temple Street Children’s Hospital since 9 August 9, 2020, following her diagnosis of a spinal cord inflammatory condition called Transverse Myelitis.
