On a wet and cold Saturday afternoon in Clonkill, and in heavy underfoot conditions, the young men of Raharney and St Oliver Plunkett’s produced a thriller of a game that had the large crowd of spectators enthralled right up to the final whistle in what was a marvellous advertisement for hurling in the Lake County.
In the end Raharney showed enormous resilience and determination as they lost two men to red cards in the second half and also lost the lead, but came storming back to defiantly stamp their authority on the game and they were worthy of their narrow single point victory.
