Westmeath authors “insulted” following AI training revelations

A Westmeath author has said it was “a smack in the face” that local creative work was included in an allegedly pirated database of books tech giant Meta used to train its Artificial Intelligence.

The Atlantic magazine has published an online  searchable database in the past week, where authors search if their work is included in the LibGen database, which has allegedly been used to train Meta’s artificial intelligence models.
