A report released by Home & Community Care Ireland (HCCI) last week has revealed that waiting lists for home care in the midlands, Longford and Meath region (CHO 8) increased by 31% between December of 2023 and 2024, rising from 712 to 932.
It claimed that the HSE “withdrew large parts of vital services from eleven counties without telling people” and left more than 1,000 people on waiting lists throughout the midlands.
