Westmeath Ladies football manager Frank Browne was rightly full of praise for the character of his squad as the Westmeath Ladies emerged narrow one-point winners following a fine second-half performance against Wexford in Ballynacargy GAA grounds, last Sunday afternoon to advance to the TG4 Leinster Intermediate Final.
A stellar display from Sarah Dillon (six points from play) along with five Anna Jones frees helped steer the Lake County over the line. Despite some late drama with the concession of a goal to Wexford and a misfired shot from them in the dying seconds that could have changed the overall outcome, Westmeath stood firm.
