In a sensational finish the Westmeath senior ladies football team edged past Cavan by a solitary point to win this Ladies All-Ireland Intermediate Football Championship Quarter-Final game in Kingspan Breffni Park, Cavan, on Sunday afternoon last.
Westmeath had trailed by two points entering the last five minutes but then Westmeath’s Anna Jones punched home a goal four minutes from the end of time to put the Lake County one in front.
