Understrength Westmeath have a mountain of mountains to climb in Limerick next weekend if they are to remain in Division 1B of the National Camogie League, after Pádraic Connaughton’s charges suffered another heavy league defeat, this time against Wexford, on Saturday last in TEG Cusack Park, Mullingar.
The Lake County camógs need to beat Limerick by a whopping score next Saturday if they are to remain in 1B, and while this is unlikely, Westmeath’s maiden season in the division will count as valuable experience.
