Westmeath Sports Partnership (WSP) were unable to spend last year’s budget for women’s sports due to an unfilled vacancy which resulted in zero new investment from Sport Ireland.
It is one of two local sports partnerships nationwide to receive zero additional funding for women’s sports, which will instead be funded this year through the “sufficient amount of deferred income [that] is being carried over from previous years,” according to Sport Ireland.
