Mullingar triathlete, Elizabeth Carr has said she was “delighted” to qualify for the World Triathlon Championships, which is taking place in Torremolinos, Spain on Saturday, 19 October.
Carr, who only started on the international circuit in November 2023 will line up with four Olympic gold medallists in her highest profile race to date. The army captain is also part of Irish history, being part of the first Irish team to enter a female and male senior competitor, as well as a junior and five para-athletes.
