Jason Keelan: Is history just a mental note or a heavy cross to bear?

Just over a century has passed since the Springfield Stars won their first county title at junior level under the umbrella club name of Mental Hospital GAA.

While my historical knowledge doesn’t stretch anywhere near the greats of professors Buckley, Hunt and others in this county, it is fascinating to read that the how St Loman’s were once the kingpins of senior hurling, while Kilbeggan Shamrocks and Rochfortbridge Warriors dominated the size-5 game.
