You could have heard a pin drop as Joe Schmidt got up on stage to speak, such is the honour and reverence the members of Mullingar Rugby Club hold for this excellent rugby coach and true gentleman. Most of the 300 hundred people gathered in the Greville Arms Hotel in Mullingar last Friday night were expecting a rather serious ‘thank you’ from Joe, for all the great times he had spent in Mullingar RFC, but it was anything but serious.
