A point, just as the clock struck sixty-minutes, from midfielder Shane Ormsby gave St Oliver Plunkett’s victory over Clan na nGael by the slimmest of margins in a tight and tense tussle in Mergon Park, Castlepollard GAA grounds last Sunday afternoon.
Despite being the better side in patches, the Brownstown-Castlepollard combination side were denied at the death even after an eye-catching performance from full-forward Darragh McCormack. The Mullingar side now advance to the Westmeath U20 Division 1 decider where they will play Na Piarsaigh, who defeated Castletown-Geoghegan last Sunday.
