Local councillors have slammed the Mullingar Local Transport Plan outlined at the September meeting of the Mullingar–Kinnegad Municipal District on Monday 9 September, describing it as “anti-car”.
The Local Transport Plan was outlined by Andrew Archer from Systra Ireland, a planning and development consultancy firm. He explained the plan aims to achieve a low-carbon economy, improve road safety, reduce pollution, enhance connectivity, increase accessibility, contribute to climate action targets and serve the public’s transport needs.
