Mullingar television star, Niamh Algar collected the Best Actor award at the 2024 Royal Television Society Yorkshire Awards for her work in the ITV series, Malpractice.
It was a highly successful night for the Malpractice cast and crew, as the series also picked the Best Drama award.
Held on Friday, 11 October, the RTS Yorkshire Awards were held to celebrate the “amazing work” that heralded from the northern English county. Other winners included Gwyneth Hughes for Best Writer, for her work in the hugely significant Mr Bates vs The Post Office.
On social media site, X, Algar commented: “Thank you for this award. So proud to be a part of this show. Congratulations World Productions and to writer Grace Ofori-Attah, Philip Barantini and to all the incredible crew and cast that brought this story to life.”
Algar can now add her Best Actor award from the RTS Yorkshire Awards, along with her two Irish Film & Television Academy awards she won in 2020 for her roles in The Virtues and Calm with Horses.
