Another lively Seisiún an tSamhraidh/Summer Session Show took place in Áras an Mhuilinn, Midlands Regional Comhaltas Centre in Mount St., Mullingar last Wednesday night.
The nights showcase the best of local and midlands talented artists who provide great entertainment. Each show is a celebration of traditional Irish music, song, dance and storytelling attracting locals and overseas visitors alike. Matt Nolan was there last week and captured some of the action for Topic.
This week the show musicians who are under the directorship of Joe Meehan and Dick Stokes were joined by members of Westmeath Comhaltas. ”Derryvaragh” the Westmeath Youth Group which has members from branches all around the county gave a fantastic performance after which members from Ballnacargy CCÉ raised the roof!
The Castletown Geoghegan branch was well represented on the night.
All enjoyed light refresments and the music continued in the bar afterwards long into the night. The next Seisiún an tSamhraidh/Summer Session Show will take place this Wednesday, 6 August with two more scheduled for the 20 and 27 August at 8.30pm. Tickets at the door €10/€5
