Dermot McCabe, from Cavan, was ratified as the new Westmeath Senior Football manager at a Westmeath GAA County Committee meeting held on Tuesday last, 15 October in the Mullingar Park Hotel.
Speaking at the meeting Westmeath GAA County Chairman Frank Mescall said, “We set up a committee to seek out a new manager and one of that committee – Jack Cooney – a former Westmeath player and manager – said he has never been involved in anything as stressful before.
