Business leaders have called for support for Westmeath’s pub trade following a 30% decrease in the number of public houses in the county over the past two decades.
A study released in recent weeks by the Drinks Industry Group of Ireland (DIGI) shows that the number of public houses in Westmeath has fallen by approximately to 11% since pre-Covid pandemic levels.
