Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh remembered for his many visits to Westmeath

Tributes have poured in for legendary commentator Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh who passed away on Tuesday, 25 June aged 93. The Kerry man was an essential element in so many iconic moments in Gaelic games throughout the years. His lilt, wit and enthusiasm for hurling and football elevated each sport and the stories within. Westmeath County Board chairman Frank Mescall honoured the beloved broadcaster after his passing.

“He was a very vibrant, very personable character. Really engaged with people and was able to communicate with them at all different levels. Just a brilliant communicator,” Mr Mescall told Topic.
