Westmeath hurlers suffered their second successive defeat in this year’s National Hurling League when they slumped to a five-point defeat to Kildare in St Conleth’s Park, Newbridge, last Sunday afternoon.

Westmeath hurlers suffered their second successive defeat in this year’s National Hurling League when they slumped to a five-point defeat to Kildare in St Clonleth’s Park, Newbridge, last Sunday afternoon.

Taking nothing away from a fine Kildare performance, this was a dreadfully disappointing display by the men in Maroon and White.

Following on from the previous Sunday’s defeat at home to Carlow, it was hoped that Westmeath would produce an improved performance and a victory against the Lillywhites, however, that was not the case.
