US Country Stars Leona and Ron Williams coming to Mullingar

Acclaimed Mullingar singer Camillus Egerton will perform on the night

Get set for a night of incredible country music this Thursday, 17 May with big names such as Camillus Egerton and Leona Williams set to take to the stage at the Greville Arms as part of the ‘Just out of Reach Show’ with Tony Kerr.

Tony Kerr is not only one of Ulster’s top country singers but he is also regarded as a leading promoter of top-class country and western music shows.

And it’s in the latter role that the popular Ballymena man is hosting a forthcoming series of concert performances featuring the superb US mother and son team team that is Leona and Ron Williams.

While Leona has long been regarded as an iconic figure in country music circles, her son Ron has built up a solid reputation as a singer of note whose laid-back style and timeless material continues to win him new fans across the globe.

Leona has not only achieved considerable success as a solo artiste but has also performed duets with Merle Haggard, Ron and Tony.

Some of the numbers written and made famous by Leona are ‘Someday When Things are Good’, ‘Yes Mam, He found Me a in a Honky Tonk’ and ‘He’s Just on my Mind again.’ She has recorded ‘Just Between the Two of Us’, ‘Just Out of Reach’ and ‘Send a Message to my Heart’ with Tony Kerr.

Ron Williams, meanwhile, is an international star in his own right with a string of hits to his name including ’The Longer You’re Gone’, ‘John Deere Letter’ and ‘Somewhere Between Now and Never’. Given his inimitable style and distinctive vocals, it’s little wonder that Ron is referred to as the Real Deal in country music circles.

The spectacular shows will encompass a feast of top-class country music with the emphasis very much on vibrant vocals and strong musicianship- a show indeed that is guaranteed to set feet tapping and make a lasting impression on those who attend.

The show will feature Tony’s top class county band, ‘The Workin’ Men’ and the fine singing voice of Tony himself.
Mullingar’s Kind of country music, Camillus Egerton, who has a video and a couple of singles coming out in the next few weeks, will also perform on the night bringing his own unique brand of entertainment to the show.
The concert will take place on 17 May in the Greville Arms Hotel.
Tickets are €15 and you can pay at the door.
