It was an incredibly moving and heartbreaking scene. Family, friends and neigbhours filled the garden outside the home of Shane Dunne and Valerie Sheerin in Knocksimon, Killucan, on Monday morning of this week, 17 July, all waiting for the sheriff, expected at any moment to evict the couple and their two children.
All their family and friends were there to stand in solidarity with Shane and Valerie. The couple had been told they were to be evicted and they spent every minute since Friday last, fearing the knock on the door and being forcibly removed from their dwelling. An eviction order against them finally came into effect last Friday, 14 July.
