‘Eye-watering’ €75m for sports complex

By Diarmuid Sherry
Council executives revealed new plans to split Mullingar Regional Sports Complex to two sites with an estimated cost of an “eye-watering” €75 million. Previous plans to build a whole sports complex in the Robinstown area of Mullingar have changed to build on two smaller sites within Mullingar. One site is still planned to be at Robinstown, and the other would be in Blackhall, Mullingar.

The plan was announced by Mullingar-Kinnegad Director of Services, Deirdre Reilly, on Monday, 13 May at Áras an Chontae, whilst presenting an update on proposed plans to the Mullingar-Kinnegad District meeting.
