Stark rise in local ‘hidden homelessness’

59 people accessed emergency accommodation services in Westmeath throughout October according to a new government report.

This was the highest number of homeless reported by any county in the Midlands with 49 in Offaly, 34 in Laois and 24 in Longford. The report found there were 197 people homeless in the Midlands in October, down from 202 in September.
