Mullingar indie quartet The Academic are set to swap the damp and cold weather of Ireland for the blistering heat of Austin, Texas when fly their country colours and play at the world-renowned South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in the capital of the Lone Star State on St. Patrick’s Day.
Forming in their early teens, The Academic are comprised of Craig Fitzgerald from Rathwire (Vocals and Guitar), Dean Gavin, Rochfortbridge, (Drums and Backing Vocals) and Raharney brothers Matt Murtagh (Guitar and Backing Vocals) and Stephen Murtagh (Bass Guitar and Backing Vocals).
