Ukrainian refugees fleeing war now account for 1.6% of the Westmeath population, according to new figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
Certain areas in the county are housing more of the 1,540 total arrivals than others, such as Athlone where 859, more than half, of the counties Ukrainian refugees are located.
