Castletown finish strongly to overcome Clonkill

By Paul O’Donovan

A goal by Andy Conway in the 55th minute was the vital score as Castletown-Geoghegan finished strongly to defeat Clonkill in this lively Intermediate Hurling Championship Section A game played in Joristown, Raharney, last Sunday morning.

Castletown trailed by five points with just seven minutes of this game remaining, but points from Conor Murphy and Pauric Kane, either side of Conway’s well taken goal, brought Castletown level. In the closing minutes Brendan Heaney and Murphy (2) added more points as Castletown eventually ran out three point winners after a closely contested game throughout.
