Claudia Boyle to perform with Mullingar Choral Society

Mullingar Choral Society will perform their Summer Concert “May we Sing “on Sunday evening next, 5 May in St Paul’s Church at 7.30pm. Many of those who attended last year’s concert were so taken by the performance of our guest soloist, Claudia Boyle that there were many requests for her to be invited back again.

We are delighted to announce that she will indeed perform for us again at this year’s concert and for those who missed her last year here is your chance to see for yourselves what so many were talking about. It was not just her fabulous singing that endeared her to our audience but also her vibrant and humorous personality.

Our concert this year includes the beautiful Cherubini Requiem in C minor. This particular work offers a serious challenge to the choir, one which we believe they have risen to and the fruits of their many hours of rehearsal will be evident for all to see on Sunday evening.

In addition, the choir will perform some well-known pieces, one or two of which they have performed at the Fleadh Cheoil in the recent past. Claudia’s choices include works by Handel, Mozart, Dvorak all of which will be delivered in her own inimitable way.

Our Musical Director Fintan Farrelly will be conductor on the night, and he has assembled a very talented Chamber Orchestra to provide the musical accompaniment. We will be dedicating our performance to the memory of our late colleague, committee member and friend, Dick Whelehan.

As we await the arrival of Summer and the prospect of some fine weather why not have your spirits lifted by attending this much anticipated Concert on Sunday, 5 May.

Tickets for the Concert are available online from Eventbrite, from any member of the choir or at the door on the night. For more information visit our website at
