Major efforts are being made by Mullingar Chamber and other business interests locally to ensure that Mullingar will have an advanced manufacturing research centre, which will become the national centre for the type of cutting edge research needed by Irish industry today – and a Council SPC meeting heard on Monday that already, there is a centre in Mullingar’s Lough Sheever Park, with three staff working there this week.
At Monday’s Economic, Enterprise and Tourism SPC, when Tom Hyland of Mullingar Chamber outlined the plan and the process, which has begun, he received backing from other members, and also indications of official support for the bid for €25,000 funding.
