A new music showcase will be launched upstairs at Number 1 this coming Thursday, 4 September.
Dubbed the Open Ear Sessions, it will play host to some excellent original acts.
Appearing on the night will be Jimmy Broder. A great supporter of the original music scene in Mullingar, Jimmy has crafted incredible songs over the years and is notable for his engaging performances. He will perform from his repertoire of interesting musical tales such as the Shadow Man and Dog Boy.
Another stalwart of the local original music scene is Mike Cole. Mike started performing at Mullingar’s SuperKidd Promotions open mic where he then went on to develop his craft by playing many stages in Ireland and more recently in France. When not on stage, Mike is creating new recordings with his sound similar to that of Elliott Smith and Magnetic Fields.
Other performers on the night include the new local acts Red Wire Green and Skywriter.
The Open Ear Sessions is a monthly acoustic showcase night intended to highlight the emerging talent from Mullingar and beyond, giving a platform for musicians to share their art with an appreciative, intimate audience.
Admission is free and it is promised to be a night of great original musical talent starting from 9pm.
