Increased rates are severely effecting local businesses in Mullingar and some of the town’s longest established premises are under real pressure to survive, with an increase of 300% in one case.
This week Topic spoke to some of those business people to find out what the aftermath of the announcement of the new rates means for them and their future. It was clear from the many people who spoke to Topic that there was a lot of resentment regarding the new rates with some businesses now facing a serious challenge to survive.
