Streete Parish Park Vintage club have been busy planning and mapping out its classic car and Vintage Extravaganza which will take place on Sunday, June 26.
Vintage and car enthusiasts from all over the country are expected to make the trip to the rural parish of Streete. Event organiser Kevin Brady said: “It’s the first big vintage meet-up for vintage fans in the Midlands after a long absence due to Covid, and our last show in 2019.
“The committee has been very busy planning the show and although this is our 20th year we won’t release any balloons just yet until we are sure the pandemic has passed, so the celebrations we were hoping to have this year will have to wait until next year, this will allow us time to plan a big 21st birthday party.”
Vintage
Some of you may ask “what is considered Vintage” and Kevin reliably informed us that “any vehicle over 30 years old are considered Classic and anything over 50 years would be Vintage”. There’s still time to enter your vintage vehicle or piece of machinery; contact Kevin on 087 137 5222 or James on 086 312 5876 to register your participation.
Streete Vintage Show has Stalls, Magic, Music and Jiving for all ages
Streete Vintage show has always been a big favourite with fans and supporters. As usual, there will be lots of entertainment for all the family to enjoy, with stall both inside and outside the fantastic location that is Streete Parish Park. Kevin went on to share some exciting news for the younger vintage enthusiasts who visit on the day by telling us “We have Europe’s award-winning master of illusion and magic Pat Fallon who will perform shows throughout the day”.
No vintage show would be complete without music so this year, country legend Johnny Brady and his band will play at the show. Johnny has been a fan of Street Vintage Show for many years and was delighted at the chance to play in Streete on the day. He is supported by the first lady of country music, Olivia Douglas, among others.
Kevin also mentions “We are delighted to have our jiving competition judges on board this year again, this competition has become popular over the years with music fans”.
Connect with Old Friends and Make New Friends in Streete
Streete show has been noted as the place to meet for family and friends from a wide area of the country for many years and we hope this year will be no exception. Kevin is happy to let us know that he has “had calls from people as far away as Bandon in Cork and Letterkenny in Donegal who not only enjoy our show but because our central location allows them to meet up.
“Our all-inclusive programme of events includes a fantastic opening display of vintage, autojumble, brick-a-brack stalls along with antiques and fine artisan, craft market and the usual display of olde time traditional basket making and tin smithery along with free children’s events, throughout the day, which will make it a great day out for all the family to remember and for some an opportunity to reminisce about the good old days,” Kevin concluded.
Greene’s Free Range Eggs, Seamus Sullivan Agricultural Contractor, Feerick’s Hotel, Keenan Bauer Motors, Salmon Bus Hire and Geerah’s Daybreak all send best wishes to the Streete Vintage Festival.
