Westmeath Ladies were made to fight all the way before they could claim a narrow victory over local rivals Roscommon at Kiltoom last Sunday afternoon.
There looked to be only one likely winner when the visitors raced into an early six-point lead but Roscommon recovered to lead by a point at half time. There was little between the teams in the second half but two goals from Aoife Connolly proved crucial as the Lake County Ladies held out to win by two points.
