The Mullingar driver test centre has the longest waiting list in the Midlands with 2,720 currently waiting for a test according to figures released to Aontú from the Road Safety Authority (RSA).
Aontú’s figures show that 375 people have a test scheduled, 1,027 are waiting, 900 are paused and 418 are not eligible. They also show that there are three testers at the Mullingar centre where the wait time is 16 weeks. The number of people on driver test waiting lists have jumped from over 1,300 in November. 10,000 people are currently waiting for a driver test in the Midlands with 1,000 still awaiting a date. There are over 2,000 people awaiting tests in each of the centres in Athlone, Portlaoise and Tullamore.
