437 couples in Westmeath got married in 2023 according to figures published by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) on Friday, 26 April. There were 422 opposite-sex marriages in Westmeath last year. 139 married in Roman Catholic ceremonies, 97 married in civil ceremonies and 89 married in ceremonies by “other religious denominations”.
54 married in Spiritualist Union of Ireland ceremonies, 34 married in Humanist Association ceremonies and eight married in Church of Ireland ceremonies. One opposite-sex couple married in a presbyterian ceremony in Westmeath in 2023.
