By Diarmuid Sherry. Westmeath Bachelor Festival have announced that residing judges Louis Walsh and Anne Doyle will be making the return trip to Mullingar for next August’s festival. The competition, takes place in Mullingar Arts Centre in the first weekend of August. The Wolfe Tones had already been announced as a headline concert act during the festival. Festival organisers said they were “absolutely delighted” to welcome back Anne and Louis. About Anne, organisers said: “She has been an absolute asset to us and we couldn’t imagine the competition without her.”
Anne Doyle is best known as a long-serving newsreader for RTÉ, who anchored the broadcaster’s main evening television news programmes during 33 years of service.
