The Cara Phort family resource centre and charity shop has been serving the village of Ballynacargy and surrounds for almost twenty years, yet its work and impact is unfamiliar to many.“Our role is to identify gaps in the community, help sort of source or fill those gaps and then step back when they’re filled,” centre co-ordinator Anne Finneran told Topic.
“We have a walk in service, meals on wheels, our food cloud and pantry initiative to support food poverty, a period poverty initiative and a shared gambling therapist,” financial administrator Michelle Carballo added.
