Forty years ago this week, on 29 January, 1984, Most Rev. Michael Smith was consecrated as Bishop of Meath.
On Sunday last, at the Solemn Vespers in Mullingar Cathedral for the Feast of the Presentation, as the Church celebrated its Day for Consecrated Life, the bishop and clergy from Meath Diocese marked retired Bishop Smith’s fortieth anniversary, with the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Montemayor among those in attendance.
