Employment related to Ireland’s Foreign Direct Investment Agency (IDA) has increased by 74% in the last nine years in Westmeath, despite a councillor’s concerns that Mullingar was losing out to Athlone. The statistics were prodvided by IDA presentation team, Denis Curran and Carole Green to Westmeath County Council on Monday, 29 April. IDA Ireland is the agency responsible for the attraction of foreign investment into Ireland.
The presentation provided more information for a planned 50,000 square foot building in Marlinstown, Mullingar, which is expected to create as many as 200 jobs upon completion.
