Following their successful debut ‘Two Brothers’ Irish tour, violin maestro, Vladimir, is once again delighted to share the stage with his equally gifted younger sibling, Anton, in their new show, ‘Moscow Nights’.
The gifted brothers will perform popular classical music pieces by the great Russian composers, including Shostakovitch, Rimsky-Korsakov and Prokofiev, and the rich Russian history of folk and gypsy melodies with such enduring favourites as ‘Dark Eyes’, ‘Kalinka’, ‘Dark Is The Night’ and ‘Those Were The Days’.
During the past decade, Vladimir Jablokov has established himself as one of the brightest young stars on the Irish classical scene, with concerts and recordings that show his love of both Viennese music and contemporary pop/crossover.
‘Two Brothers’ sees the gifted young maestro once again join forces with his brother Anton, himself a dazzling violinist with a flair for daring improvisation, which showcases their almost telepathic skills and intuition as sibling musicians. Sons of a talented Russian violinist and conductor (who himself is the son of a brilliant violinist), the brothers have been playing together for almost twenty years. Pushing each other on to greater heights of artistic expression, joyful harmony and thrilling clashes, this is sibling rivalry sound-tracked like you have never heard it before.
Completing the gifted ensemble for these concerts will be pianist Adam Kuruc, Vladimir’s longtime arranger and co-producer, and Peter Vizvari on the double bass.
Come along and enjoy ‘Moscow Nights’ as these superb musicians explore their storied musical heritage, including ‘Flight Of The Bumble Bee’, ‘Meadowlands (Polyushko-polye)’, ‘When I Met You (Russian Romance)’, ‘Adagio from Spartacus (theme to The Onedin Line)’ and many more beautiful, stirring pieces and songs.
Vladimir and Anton Joblokov bring their ‘Moscow Nights’ to the Mullingar Arts Centre on 27 February. Tickets are €18 and are available now by calling 044-394-7777 and online at www.mullingar artscentre.ie.
