Mullingar Athletic took a major step towards claiming the CCFL Under 19 honours when they took home a vital point from title rivals Monksland United in Cushla Park, Athlone, last Saturday afternoon.
Quite simply with both teams having one game remaining after this game and Athletic leading the division by two points, Monksland really needed to win this game to have the best chance of winning the league. A draw would favour Athletic who still lead the league table by two points heading into the final series of games.
