Westmeath ladies have to settle for a point following trip to Kerry

Westmeath senior camogie team faced the long and difficult trip to Fitzgerald Stadium in Killarney for their opening round game of their  ‘Very’ National Camogie League Division 2A campaign last Saturday and in the end the Lake County ladies had to settle for a share of the points after a low-scoring draw.

Despite the long journey Diarmuid Cahill’s side would have been hoping to collect full points from this fixture and for long stages of the second half it looked as though Westmeath would prevail but the Kerry girls dug deep and might even have snatched the win, but overall a draw was just about right.
