A brand new music festival called The Good Folk Festival will take place at Canton Caseys in Mullingar on the June bank holiday weekend from Wednesday, 29 May to Sunday, 2 June.
Local and national acts will perform in Canton Casey’s over the five nights. George Murphy, formerly of Mik Pyro, formerly of The Republic of Loose, will perform at the festival.
Irish trad group Megatrad, featuring the Ó Dálaigh brothers, from County Clare will also perform at the new festival.
Local legends Peter Doran and Jimmy Broden will open the festival on Wednesday with a performance by Sugar Ray on Sunday Night wrapping up the festival. All shows will be held downstairs in Cantons and all are free entry.
