Constituents come first for Peter Burke even after address in New York

The last two months have seen Peter Burke’s stock rise dramatically following his appointment as Minister of State for European Affairs last December, a role that involves representing Ireland around the world.

Burke’s first foray into politics began with his election to Westmeath County Council as a 26-year-old in 2009, his second time out on the ballot paper following an unsuccessful campaign in 2004.
