Westmeath manager Jack Cooney was delighted with his side’s convincing victory over Offaly at Croke Park last Sunday, in the Tailteann Cup semi-final.
They will face Cavan in the decider on Saturday, 9 July at GAA Headquarters.
“It’s very pleasing to score what we did (3-22). We really imposed ourselves on the game in the first 20- minutes. It’s really pleasing; it’s not to often we get such a victory in Croke Park, so we’ll relish it,” said Cooney.
While the outcome never really looked in doubt from the moment Ronan Wallace scored a superb goal, but Cooney admitted Westmeath have plenty to work on as they wasted some good chances, particularly in the first half.
