The Department of Defence officially handed over an agreed area of Columb Barracks to the Department of Integration on Monday (6 March) morning for the accommodation of 120 International Protection applicants.
From Monday morning onwards, there has been high levels of activity on the site with department officials and site managers observed leaving and entering, suggesting that the arrival of the asylum seekers is imminent.
