He’s Mullingar’s King of Country Music and next Tuesday, 23 September, a host of stars are coming to town to help him launch his third album – and raise a few bob for charity.
Who are we talking about? Why, none other than Camillus Egerton.
The talented Mullingar man is releasing “Singin’ The Legends” this week, an album packed full of country classics made popular by other singers that Camillus continues to be inspired by today.
The album is being launched with a huge “Singin’ The Legends” night at the Greville Arms Hotel on Tuesday, 23 September.
Among the names taking to the famous Greville stage are Johnny Brady, Lisa McHugh, Matt Leavy, Simon Casey, Sarah Hogan, Billy Mac, Ben Dolan and Irish step dancer Lauryn Sheerin. Camillus has also lined up one of the best bands in the region as the ‘house band’ for the night, with the fabulous Sheerin Family Country Band featuring Mary and Dan joining all the acts for what promises to be a great night of entertainment. Tickets, priced just €10, are on sale now.
All proceeds from both the concert – and from sales of the album – are going to the LARCC centre in Multyfarnham.
The album will be on sale on the night and also in Rochforts, Mullingar and all good music stores nationwide. Among the songs on it are “I Cross My Heart” by George Strait, “Rainy Days and Stormy Nights,” by the late Charlie Craig, “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain” by Fred Rose, Tom T Hall’s “Second Hand Flowers”, Lefty Frizell’s “Bandy The Rodeo Clown” and Vince Gill’s “Take Your Memory With You”. It’s a cracking album, and country music fans nationwide should be tipping their Stetsons in the direction of the kind-hearted Mullingar singer for his charitable intentions.
