IP applicants can’t be housed in new Coole Court buildings

International Protection (IP) applicants can not currently be housed in buildings under construction near Coole Court, the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth told Topic on Friday, 12 April. Videos posted by residents from the village on the Coole Concerns Facebook page in March showed ongoing construction works behind Coole Court, the site of the International Protection Accommodation Services (IPAS) accommodation centre. Residents suggested it was evidence modular homes were being constructed to house IP applicants.

A Department spoke-sperson told Topic IP applicants can’t be housed at the site without a change in planning permission:
