Mullingar-based football boot company Klaaskickz was honoured at the Top 100 Most Ambitious Companies in Ireland awards on Thursday, 15 February. The local company was named the most ambitious health and education business in Ireland at the awards ceremony held by Dublin-based firm, Spark Crowdfunding. Klaaskickz celebrated the win in a social media post on the night of the event: “Now to fulfil that ambition and to continue to help kids in Ireland become more confident in sport. Thanks to everyone who voted. We appreciate you!”
The company was founded by Mullingar man, Mark Connaughton. Originally from Dublin, Mr Connaughton set up Klaaskickz to remove the jargon from sport so kids can be more confident when learning and playing. His product helps novice soccer and football players improve their skills through colour-coordination. The Klaaskickz motto is ‘confidence in football, confidence in life’.
