A Milltown–Rathconrath community group has been nominated for two Digital Town Awards which will take place on Friday, 24 May in Athlone. The group has been nominated in the Digital Changemaker and Digital Community categories for establishing a remote working hub centre. It is located on the grounds of Milltown GAA and features meeting rooms, a function hall and high speed broadband. Milltown Rathconrath remote working hub also features a kitchen, gym, showers and all-weather walking track.
“We were very fortunate to get shortlisted for it. Hopefully we will get something out of one of those two categories. It will give us a bit of a higher profile for our facility,” Digital Hub Coordinator Paul Heduan told Topic.
