Judge to deliver lecture on Holocaust architect, Reinhard Heydrich

On Wednesday, 25 January at 8pm in the Greville Arms Hotel, Mullingar, Supreme Court Judge, Mr. Peter Charleton will deliver a lecture on Reinhard Heydrich to the Westmeath Archaeological and Historical Society (WAHS), and anyone who wishes to attend. All are welcome.

Mr Justice Charleton, was appointed to the Supreme Court by President Higgins in 2014 and has presided over some of the major criminal cases in the state in the interim. He is a keen historian and has published recently on the Cuban missile crisis. He is a widely published author on various aspects of civil and criminal law and is one of the most respected members of the judiciary.

His theme for the lecture to the WAHS is the assassination of one of the most feared men of the twentieth century Europe- Reinhard Heydrich. Heydrich was one of Hitlers most notorious henchmen who as chief of the SS and the Gestapo acted as a ruthless overlord of Nazi-occupied Bohemia and Moravia ands was the leading planner of the Final Solution. Mr Justice Charleton has a specialist interest in Heydrich and will facilitate a multi media presentation on the life of Heydrich, his assassination and the dreadful consequences which followed.
